MATT ARMSTRONG, MA, RCC

Owner & Registered Clinical Counsellor, #16507

I am passionate about people and the discovery of what makes us human. I believe that we have a natural desire and ability to grow, but often require the support of one another to become unstuck and heal. This has been my experience, and the experience of those I have had the privilege to work with. I strive to create meaningful relationships with my clients built on safety, trust, and hope, where people feel accepted and challenged to grow.

I hold a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). As a counsellor, I maintain an integrative approach, drawing from theories of trauma, attachment, and family/community systems. However, I tailor my approach to the specific goals and strengths of each individual client. Additionally, I am trained in Observed and Experiential Integration (OEI) and Lifespan Integration (LI), both of which are body-based trauma processing therapies.

In practice, I work with adults in the following areas:

· Anxiety / Panic

· Depression

· Relational Trauma (abuse, neglect and/or abandonment)

· Post-traumatic Stress (PTSD)

· Grief and Loss

· Spirituality

· Stress and Burnout

· Life Transitions
